Deacons

The Deacon  ministry which began during apostolic times plays an integral part in the smooth running of the church’s weekly worship services, and all its meetings. The variety of tasks include preparing the sanctuary for the weekly services, collection of the tithes and offerings during the Divine service, as well as the following:

Maintenance of the Church Property

The Deacons responsibility includes the upkeep of the church property  both interior and exterior. It also includes the  oversight of janitorial work, repairs and  ground maintenance.

 Opening and Closing of the Church

Deacons are designated to open the church before church services  and close and lock the building at the conclusion of its services.

 Communion Services

Prepare the physical arrangement such as placing the communion table, basins, water and towels in the appropriate rooms for the ordinance of humility and communion service. Dispense water and basins for the men during the ordinance of humility.

 
Security

Deacons will care for the security for those in attendance, always vigilant for the comfort and safety of all persons.
