The Elders Ministry of the Light Bearers Mission Seventh-day Adventists church [LBM] consist of five ordained Elders whose principal responsibilities involves the Administration of the church functions and the spiritual nurturing and mentoring of its members. The board has a major emphasis of helping each member in establishing a saving relationship with Christ and a harmonious and cordial relationship with each other.
The Elders coordinate:
(1) the weekly worship church services for each Sabbath which takes place from 11 AM to 12:30 PM each Saturday
(2) planning weekly Prayer Meetings which occur each Wednesday night from 7 – 8 PM
(3) take part in the Daily Devotionals which are conducted each weekday morning beginning from 6 – 6:30 AM
(4) take part in the Community Bible study held each Wednesday from 12 – 1 PM
(5) provide training and encouragement to members so that they may be equipped to faithfully use their spiritual gifts to minister to the community
In addition, the Elders oversee that the various departments in the church function seamlessly and smoothly in an endeavor to fulfill the church’s mission and involvement in the community. The Elders’ board meets regularly with each other and the church board in an endeavor to enable participation in the decision making of the church’s ministry in a unified manner.
“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,…” (Ephesians 4:11-12).
